Welcome Page

Welcome to Brewood Cricket Club’s website

Brewood CC has adopted a policy of opening up to the public in recent years and a warm welcome is extended to all who have an interest in this most esoteric and beautiful of sports. If you want to play – at almost any level, support or just watch in the sun with a glass or two of the legendary local Morton’s Ale, you are most welcome. Though if you want to see where the true strength of the club lies, come along on a Tuesday or Thursday evening in the summer and see the juniors learning the game.

This season would be all about holding on and getting established at higher levels. Despite a few anxious moments throughout the season a good 2011 was achieved by all four teams, so that amounts to another great season for the club.

The First Team finished as champions of the Birmingham League 3rd Division, which few would have predicted at the half-way stage, and now have an even tougher task in the 2nd Division. But with the team being ably led by Captain Chris Pearce and his Vice-Captain Cameron Fox the have high hopes. The Seconds finished mid-table as did the Fourths. The Thirds finished lower down the table than in previous years, but it was still a creditable performance in an undoubtedly higher-standard league.

There is a tremendous spirit within the club particularly since the vast majority of our players are “home-grown”, having risen through the ranks from the Juniors.

The Club welcome any suggestions you may have for improving this website or any item or subject that you would like to see covered – if we able to do it whilst adhering to any restrictions we may have (including our child friendly policy) we would be happy to do so.
